Tour: Third Reich Berlin
Guide: Nigel
Date: 31.07.10

"Teacher, tour guide, soldier, spy - Nigel is simply the best possible person to follow around Berlin for six hours (four-hour tour? ha!) while he lectures in his marvelous British professor-style voice about Berlin during the Third Reich (as well as about the Third Reich in general). My father and I both were lucky enough to go on this tour, and we very much enjoyed Nigel's engaging delivery. Moreover, we were extremely impressed by his brilliant command of the subject matter. Nigel's education and research give him a handle on this epoch of history that few other guides could hope to match, and his amazing life experience affords him a unique perspective on all things pertaining to military operations, as well as on the city of Berlin. My father and I have been on other historical walking tours in Germany before that were quite good, but Nigel's was our favorite by far. Highly recommended! (N.b. I have not been throwing around superlatives undeservedly here; Nigel really is extraordinary and his tour is something special.)"

Tour: Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
Guide: Derek
Date: 13.07.10

"Can't say that this tour was as fun as the other one, it wasn't supposed to be. But Derek was a terrific guide an absolute wealth of interesting information and really helpful in answering questions. I had two 18 year olds with me - one was very interested in this tour, the other was not...after the tour, the one who was not told me how happy she was to have taken this tour and gained a new understanding of that period in history. That was all because of Derek, as he delivered information in a way that interested even the ones that started out to be not so interested!"

Tour: Jewish Berlin
Guide: Barnaby
Date: 12.07.10

"What a great city, what a great tour and what a terrific guide! Barnaby was everything I could have asked for to introduce Berlin to us. I had two 18 year olds with us and Barnaby engaged them, entertained and educated them! Just terrific! He even recommended restaurants and a club for the kids to go to - all of which were terrific! Best of all, we happened to run into him in front of our apartment in Berlin and he stopped and chatted for quite a while and it made us feel at home while we were in Berlin - we knew somebody!"

Tour: The Famous Insider Walk
Guide: Brian
Date: 22.06.10

"I apologize to Brian for not being punctual in my thanks to him for introducing us to the fascinating city of Berlin. My son (Brian called him Muffin) and I were with Brian for Brian's first tour of season (6-22-10). I was reminded to thank Brian when a co-worker asked me what was the highlight of my month long trip to Europe, I said, “My Berlin walking tour with Brian”. While I was sharing my experience with my co-worker I found myself becoming emotional conveying what Brian had taught us about Berlin. I absolutely loved this tour of Berlin and my deepest thanks to Brian. By the way my 16 year old son feels that the tour was the highlight of his trip as well and he also says Thank You."

Tour: The Famous Insider Walk
Guide: Michael
Date: 16.07.10

"Thank you very much Michael for a famous walk tour on Fri. 16th. I was really happy about MIchaels thoughtful way of explaining history and amazed about the amount of knowledge he had. It certainly was the "hardest history lesson of my Life" ( 6 hrs) but it was worth it. Tapio, Helsinki, Finland"

Tour: The Famous Insider Walk
Guide: Brian
Date: 13.07.10

"Our 13yr old asked us to do the Insider Walking Tour, it’s only 4 hrs! We ended up on a 7 hr tour. It was so interesting and exciting that the time passed by. It was a lovely way to see the city and Brian’s passion for Berlin made it a wonderful day out. He even made sure we had topped up the suncreen! We learnt so much history of the city from the 9th November to the architect Schinkel. The taking down of the Berlin Wall was very emotional. We followed the trail the next day and visited all the sites mentioned and the museums that Brian talked about and our 13yr old was able to tell us all about it again. We would recommend this Insider Tour to everyone."

Tour: Cold War Berlin
Guide: Nigel
Date: 08.07.10

"Following this tour and choosing this guide was the best choice I could have ever made on my first visit to Berlin. In 5hrs of walking tour with Nigel I learnt more about the 2nd world war, the cold war and Berlin in general than from any other books or lectures ever. Nigel perfectly knows what he is talking about as he has lived specific situations and historcal moments (just check his CV, the guy is impressive!!!!! ). Moreover, he was able to keep the whole groups' attention, even in the warmest weather, which is not easy. After the tour some of us went with Nigel to have a drink at his favourite place and still he kept giving us information, the tour was just not finished..... this is not only a job for him, it's a real passion. So he is the best guide ever! So I have already promised myself to go back to Berlin and follow Nigel in the 3rd Reich tour, I cannot miss it! In the end I can only strongly recommend to do the tour and choose him as a guide. Just enjoy it as much as I did. "
