"An excellent experience; Barnaby was friendly and welcoming, as well as humourous which always helps! His enthusiasm for Berlin came over very clearly. Whilst it's impossible to give anyone a complete picture in 4hrs, Barnaby covered the major events and places extremely well, peppering with anecdotes to bring the stories to life. For me, he left me with a good overview of the city, its history and its people, as well as enthusing me to find out more. Well done! My wife, as a teacher, said that if she was giving him a lesson observation,he would receive full marks! He used a lot of fun visual techniques to illustrate quite complex information, which really helped cement them in your memory. We don't think we will ever forget "1871" and "Karl....Friedrich....Schinkel!" Thank you Barnaby!"
"We had a great time learning about the city and getting a good intro for our time here. Much appreciated. Thanks Jamie, hope you got your pocket fixed. "
"Really excellent tour. The tour being led by someone who was clearly a genuine historian with a true passion for the city and it's history was a huge bonus. Highly recommended."
"Having done many walking tours in the past, both my wife and I agree that the insider tour was by far the best we've encountered. Mike was superb and kept our groups attention for 5 hours! His enthuiasm is infectious and delivery and knowledge enviable! Well done to all at Insider for a great show! "
"One of the most amazing tours I have ever been on. Mike made the experience all the more interesting. His passion for what he does made the trip an experience that I will never forget. Keep up the good work Mike!"
"For anyone visiting Berlin from whichever country a walking tour with Insider Tours is an absolute must. My wife and I went on the Third Reich Tour on the 15th of March 2011. If you are lucky enough to have Nigel Dunkley as your guide on the day, then you will be well satisfied and impressed. As an ex-army, former secret agent and UK Government diplomat, Nigel gives a very polished, professional and knowledgeable presentation of the subject, including visiting places not normally discussed or visited by others, all given with a lot of meaning, and humour where required. There was no skimping on time. What was supposed to be a four hour tour ended up being nearer eight hours, because we were all so absorbed and interested in Nigel's dialogue! The second tour we did was the general "Famous Walk" on the 16th of March. Our guide Barnaby (Barny) Pole, had a different style to Nigel, but was equally impressive and enthusiastic about the subject, again extending the time allocation somewhat. All in all, these tours are superb and well worth the money. Highly, highly, recommended."
"We were a group of nine all from the UK. One of the best walking tours i have ever had the pleasure to be on. informative, educational and amusing. not one of us i suspect, really wanted it to end but it did on a high note ! would i recommend your company to others; without doubt ! "
"Excellent tour, Jamie was insightful and frank when discussing the various aspects of Berlin's history. In my visit, I also took an open-top bus tour, which was a complete waste of time by comparison (virtually no discussion of WW2, Nazis, Cold War etc). Jamie was not afraid to speak openly about these aspects of Berlin's past - which in reality is what people want to hear about when in Berlin, unpalatable as it may be."
"What a Tour! it is all I can say! There is no guide like Mike, he inspired my day and made the visit just unforgettable! Way to go Mike!!!!"
"Me and my girls wanted first do something else, but then we were offered this tour and to be honest was WORTH IT! Kenny was outstanding. I'm speechless! Never had a guide that prepared! He showed us a lot of Berlin, that even I living here did not know about."
