"Our tour with Nigel was engaging, charismatic, informative & humourous. Looking at the team's backgrounds in the leaflet, i said to my partner before the tour that i hoped we had Nigel, because he seemed so knowledgeable & interesting. Having the lived experience of the 2nd World War, he didn't disappoint with his privaleged knowledge, insights. & sheer enthusiasm for sharing. A unique cross between Stephen Fry, James Bond, Father Christmas & my grandad (who loved to tell his war stories), Nigel was highly entertaining & gave us a fascinating insight into what life was like behind the wall. Nigel would be doing us all an injustice if he doesn't write an autobiography one day...which i will be keeping my eyes open for! Nigel is definately the best tour guide & historian I have ever met, and his tour was a highlight of our time in Berlin. Thanks, Nigel x"
"I took my mum to Berlin for a few days to celebrate her 50th, and surprised her by taking her to see her favourite guitarist (Joe Bonamassa) play at the Admiralspalast. The day after we decided to take a trip to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp that we had seen on the leaflet. We met with our tour guide Nigel Dunkley at the main train station in Berlin. Meeting Nigel was the highlight of the highlight of our trip. The man has almost limitless knowledge on, as far as I could tell, everything thats happened since the turn of the 20th century (and i'm sure we didn't even touch the surface!). And all this information is delivered in the most wonderful way. He made us cry with laugher, whilst at the same time wowing us with facts and figures e.g. There were thousands of Concentration Camps spread all over Germany's occupied territories! Upon arriving at Sachsenhausen, we were given a presentation on the origins of the camp, it's expansion, numbers of staff, prisoners, approximate deaths, famous names and faces that had met their demise, and my favourite bit of information: The famous counterfeiting/money laundering project the Nazi's ran to flood the English and American economies! After being warm and toasty in the projector room, we ventured out into the cold and wet world that is Sachsenhausen (We're told it's the best weather for seeing a concentration camp!). I won't ruin it for those that haven't visited, but what you can see, learn and feel there is unimaginable. Knowing the history, the footsteps you're walking have been walked by 10's of thousands that perished, the medical experimentations, seeing a prison (yes a PRISON!) in a concentration camp, execution pits, mass graves, ovens, gallows etc. And all extensively explained and shown to us by a remarkable tour guide who's history is just as interesting as some of the things we saw that day (though notably, not such a dark and torrid history) made this trip something both myself and my mum will never forget! Overall it was a day of firsts, and one that will be ringing in my mind (and ears!) for the near future, and something i'll tell my kids about one day. Thank you Nigel!! "

Information through enthusiasm inclusivity and fun. David n Kate"
"Myself and a friend went on the Sachsenhausen tour and it was absolutely fantastic. Mike was not only our guide, but essentially a walking, talking book full of information. Mike's vast knowledge was delivered to us in a clear, passionate way which thoroughly engaged everybody on the tour. Despite the obvious distressing nature of the subject, Mike was able to inform us about the camp in an energetic and enthusiastic way. He was able to answer any questions about the camp but also provided us with a lot of information about Berlin's centre whilst en route. This is a must see tour and Mike and the Insider Tours is the best way to see it. If and when I return to Berlin, I will definitely take one of their tours again!"
"We had a fantastic tour with Barnaby around the famous sights of Berlin. We can recommend this to anyone with the slightest interest in modern history- This was our second tour with insider tours (Last one was Sachsenhausen with Mike) Both tours were great experiences. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
"Had a very informative tour with Nigel, his insight and knowledge about the camp and the people was amazing. I thank him for the tour and the added bonus of a good beer and currywurst afterwards. Thanks again Nigel."
