Tour: Third Reich Berlin
Guide: Mike
Date: 21.11.08

"I can't praise Mike enough for the fantastic tour he gave. His knowledge and passion for the subject seemed to know no bounds- along with his excellent delivery. And the way he does it walking backwards, so as to face you- astounding!! It's the best tour I've ever been on. Give the guy a medal, no, give him a pay rise..."

Tour: The Famous Insider Walk
Guide: Mike
Date: 25.11.08

"Hi Mike I was on your walking tour last Thursday, the day after the England Germany football game, and just wanted to drop you a quick line to say how fantastic the tour was. I often go on tours when on holiday which are billed as similar to yours, but often find the guides a bit dry, scripted and certainly lacking a genuine interest in their subject. Not so last Thursday - I said at the end of the tour how great it was to be led by someone with a real passion, really brought it to life, and was absolutely fascinating subject material - without a doubt the best five hours of the trip, no question. Since returning home I've ordered a copy of The Downfall, and I'm looking for a readable book charting the history of the Berlin Wall (Any recommendations gratefully received!) Just wanted to take time out - in a world where people are so quick to criticise I thought it only fair to let you know my thoughts after the tour. Truly inspiring, I can honestly say I've never come away from a place with a desire to know more about it like I have with Berlin and it's modern history - solely down to the tour we went on. Obviously the only downside was that we didn't get to find out how many doors there were in Hitler's office ;-) Cheers Simon"

Tour: The Famous Insider Walk
Guide: Derek
Date: 16.11.08

"Great tour by a great guide who kept the interest of everyone despite the cold day. Sadly I had to leave Berlin the next day but have booked again for February and shall certainly be doing another tour. The tour covered almost every main site you could think of, and the information provided by Derek managed to be both informative and entertaining, and gave both myself and my wife a good grounding to know our was around the main sites for future visits. Cannot recommend enough, thanks."

Tour: Insider's Berlin by Bike
Guide: Mike
Date: 2007-05-07

"I tried to write a review about this after coming home, but it was mistake filled and weak. Now, over a year after our Berlin Bike Tour with Mike, I'm still telling friends how it was one of the best things I've done on any vacation ever. Most of that is due to Mike, it was above and beyond what any Tour guide could ever do. This guy is like a freaking PhD in Berlin and will tell you anything you need to know. You could walk around by yourself with a guide book for two weeks and still not learn half of what you will learn on this half day tour. The cruisers are pretty sweet, it rained during ours but we were still hard charging it. I tell every Germany bound friend of mine to do the Berlin Insider Bike Tour with Mike."

Tour: Cold War Berlin
Guide: Mike
Date: August 08

"Mike's personal touch made this an even better tour than just all the history involved. It may have taken a few months for me to get this comment posted, but the memory is still fresh. Thanks again Mike and I hope you're still enjoying taking people through history. You had something personal for everyone in the group."

Tour: Third Reich Berlin
Guide: Kenny
Date: 07.11.08

"We went on the Third Reich Tour and were really impressed with the quality of the guide. Not only did we see areas of Berlin we would not have otherwise seen, we were given a historical narrative that showed the guide's massive knowledge on the subject, which meant questions were easily answered and information was presented in a manner that allowed us to really visualise the history of each site we visited. The tour was so good, we decided to do the Famous Tour the next day - and were pleased to find Kenny as our guide for a second time in two days! "

Tour: Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
Guide: Derek
Date: 01 and 02

"Derek was our guide in Sachsenhausen and in the Famous Insider Walk, two days in a row! What a luck to be guided by this guy! Nice, knowledgeable, full of nice histories and ways to pass it forward. His position as a foreigner allowed him to touch the most controversial subjects with skill, without offending or violating history. Charismatic guy as well. Highly recommended, and he looks funny in the mornings so that you can laugh! "

Tour: Cold War Berlin
Guide: Mike
Date: 27.10.08

"On my return trip with Tom, this was our first tour. The weather was lousy, but the guide was 'Dynamo' Mike - what could be more perfect for the Cold War tour? A fascinating tour that expanded significantly upon life in Berlin during the Cold War years. I suspect that this period in Berlin's history is little understood by most outsiders. It was a remarkable experience to learn more and better appreciate the events of the past and the difficulties of the recent times, where re-unification is very much an organic process rather than the mechanical operation many might have envisaged. Another great tour that, for the receptive listener, paints a thought provoking picture of the strengths and weaknesses of both communism and capitalism."

Tour: Third Reich Berlin
Guide: Kenny
Date: Oct 2008

"Having visited Berlin only days before, Cathy and I felt it essential that our son Tom (studying A Level history) should experience the place under the careful tutelage of the Insider Guides. I was interested to see the tour again under a different guide and Kenny didn't disappoint, providing a subtly different perspective to Mike. The core information remains the same, but each guide likes to modify the focus on different elements. Well worth doing again for me and for Tom a great way to become immersed in his studies."
