An amazing tour! We spent a significant amount of time at the Stauffenberg Memorial, where Nigel explained intricate stories after stories of events that took place right where we were standing - our jaws dropped on the floor. We had long discussions of World War II and heard his fascinating personal anecdotes of his time during the Cold War - Nigel brings out an unbelievable passion in his explanations, that you feel you are right there in the middle of the action, that you feel the history that took place right at your footsteps half a century ago. With his quirky and hilarious personality, Nigel has really brought out the best of Berlin.
Mike has the energy of ten men half his age, the knowledge of a dozen historians and the enthusiasm of a circus performer. He was an absolutely outstanding guide. I was on the tour with 3 friends who had never been to Europe before and whose knowledge of 20th C European history was pretty limited, and his comments were truly enlightening and really brought this fantastic city to life. His personal stories gave an authenticity to his tour that was very engaging and gave us an inside view to what life in Berlin is really like. He has a great sense of humour and irony, but is also very respectful of all human beings, religions and ways of thinking--in particular, his way of dealing with a Roma-Sinti woman who was begging from the group was notable for this. He used it as a "teaching moment" for the group, relating it to Third Reich attitudes to various minorities and informing us about their culture, while reminding us that he would ask us to refrain from giving money while on the tour, but that once the tour was over we should feel free to do so, explaining this all in a very respectful and humanist tone. I appreciated this very much. It was truly brilliant in every way, and for all of us a real highlight was the Holocaust Memorial, which Mike described poignantly. I would recommend an Insider Tour to everyone. Thanks Mike!!
I had very little knowledge of Germany's wartorn history and Nigel provided an amazing introduction to Berlin's past. He is so knowledgeable! Ask him about the smallest details! Like tram tracks in East Berlin, Frederick The Great's suffix, or why the Ishtar gates were preserved during the air raids. The ignorant me feels a little more enlightened and completely hooked to this city! Im a changed woman!!

Derek was absolutely charming. He knew everything about the city, the pacing was good, he was very friendly and his joking made time fly by. I highly recommend this tour and this guide if you only have a day to spend in Berlin. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Barnaby. He was very knowledgable and entertaining. He appeared to be a little under the weather that day, but it didn't dampen his enthusiasm--even my son is now thinking being a tour guide would be a great gig.
Thanks again for providing our familiy with a memorable experience.
David was probably the best guide we have come across in Europe. Witty, knowledgeable and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the history and the mystery that he brought with him about Berlin. Will recommend him any day!!!
Did this walk today and it's possibly the best guided tour we've ever enjoyed. David brought the stories to life and was a fantastic guide. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Aboard the Carlisle United Supporters Club London Branch for the walking tour of city Berlin tour. Excellent 4 hour walk around the city with the all knowledgable Derek. Great guide and tour host - he certainly knows his stuff with timely wit and banter to add. Certainly do the walking tour first and the city sight seeing bus & river tours second as you will get better value in knowing your way around and recognising everything. The city has a history and a background that almost lends itself to tour guiding and the places and venues you get to see are breath-taking at times. Worth the money, excellent tour and thank you. Jonathan
Absolutely amazing guide, brought me and 17 of my friends around the camp, had such an in depth knowledge of the Camp and its many personalties that once inhabited it, presenting it in a gripping manner. Would 100% recommend anyone with the slightest of interest to go on a tour with this man and you will leave with a vastly developed understanding and a hunger for the topic!
I have been to Berlin 3 times now and ended up doing this tour the 3 times.
Barnaby brought a great deal of knowledge and did it in an entertaining and enthusiastic way, by far the best tour I have done.
I recommend this tour to anyone I hear is going to Berlin.
