"Such a brilliant tour. His depth of knowledge with personal insights/observations just made it. Best 4 hrs we spent in Berlin, and he helped plan/advise our next day sight seeing---which was spot on---even avoiding the queues at the Reichstag"
"I'm am an exchange student studying in UK and went to Berlin for my Easter travel. I had an excellent tour with Nigel on 1 Apr. He is a Scotsman, full of energy, charisma and passion with a great sense of humor. If you take his tour, you'll have the impression that he's an encyclopedia of Berlin - he knows the place really really well. The tour is quite all-rounded, so it takes you through the main sites amongst the busy roads... a bit of history, a taste of the culture and a lot of fun!"
"Even if you are well-read on the topic you will enjoy Kenny's deep knowledge of his subject area plus skilled and eloquent delivery. Highly recommended."
"GENIAL! El tour fue magnífico, una visita muy interesante, bien explicada: con historia, anécdotas, recomendaciones. En algo más de 4 horas vimos el centro histórico: Reichstag, puerta de Brandeburgo, Catedral, Alexanderplatz, Unter den Linden, Bunker... Una muy buena manera de hacerse una idea de la ciudad. Muy recomendable y la guía muy simpática."
"Thanks to Derek's fantastic, informative tour I know have a much improved understanding of WW11 politics and history. Packed with facts, this tour was good for the folk who evidently knew lots more than I did (wouldn't be difficult!) as well as helping set the whole scene for the likes of me who has never been much of a history buff. But anyone reading this review don't get me wrong: Derek knows SO much about the city he makes the time pass quickly. But don't expect to be finished on time...you get more than your money's worth. Thanks Derek for stimulating an interest in the history of that era!"
"Absolutely brilliant tour through the city of Berlin with an amazing guide - Nigel. We got stuck into the history of Berlin in minutes and Nigel's infectious enthusiasm and charm combined with enormous humor and sheer fantastic detailed knowledge made for a rich and unique experience for us all. We had an incredible tour and are just so grateful to Insider and the very unique Nigel who put so much effort and extra fun into our tour, which went about an hour over time but everyone was very happy and keen to tap into his incredible professional historian brain. Nigel knows everything about Berlin worth knowing, is full of tips and hints and he knows the answer to every question thinkable and gives an in depth, fascinating account of the history of Berlin like a professor one minute, and like an entertainer the next. We loved it and the tour made such a difference to our enjoyment of our stay in Berlin. We will be recommending Insider and telling everyone to take a tour with the awesome Nigel for an unforgettable experience. Congratulations Insider and best wishes and a big thank you to "the Big Scotsman""
"When my wife and I were on holiday in Berlin in 2007, we did a walking tour and the reason I tried to get a private tour for us last week was that the tour, & tour guide, back then were so good. When Kenny bounded up to us last Friday, I recognised him as the same guy! So there's such a thing as repeat business in the walking tour industry:-)I'd be very confident in recommending you to anyone wanting a tour of Berlin. Best Regards and thanks again, Conor"
"Thanks Mike, for your endless enthusiasm. I have no idea how you keep all those facts in your head! Your passion for the subject is inspiring. Thanks for effortlessly turning a four hour tour into a five and a half hour tour and then apologising that you had to end it so soon! You went far beyond your job description. "
"I did both the Famous Walk and 3rd Reich Walk with our resident Highlander Kenny. A visit to Berlin wouldn't be worth it without an Insider Tour, its the best way to relive its history. I've also done the Sachsenhausen tour. Kenny 's knowledge and personal interest in the subject made the tours informative, interesting and compelling. Kenny, if you remember the two Asian chaps you went for a pint with and mad enough to photo the men's room, give us a shout !"
"Me and my dad took the third reich tour from Nigel a while back and it was one of my favorite experiences that I have ever had on any vacation. He was the most knowledgeable, personable tour guide we have ever had and really made the tour memorable. (He even stuck around after the tour and we all had drinks with him- he has some AMAZING stories) For anyone looking for an amazing tour of Berlin and is interested in what was happening there during the war this tour is a MUST! I hope that all who visit Berlin take this tour with Nigel. Alex Levine- San Diego, CA USA"
