A postgraduate student and lecturer at the Humboldt University, Tamar came to study in Berlin some seven years ago and found herself reluctant to leave this vibrant city with its wealth of cultural and historical sites. Much of Berlin’s history has a personal significance for Tamar, since her family lived in Germany for centuries before being forced to flee the country when the Nazis came to power.
